Living Beyond Hemophilia

Travel

When in college you may come across the opportunity to travel to another country, either for a study abroad program or simply with friends or family. If this is something that interests you, take advantage of the opportunity! But before you head to the airport, make sure you’re prepared for an extended stay in a foreign country.

Do some research to see what the healthcare system is like in the country in which you will be visiting. Find out where you should go if you have a bleed and how your factor will be delivered if you’re planning a long trip. Information on hemophilia resources available outside the U.S. is available from the World Federation of Hemophilia
