Hi. My name is Cesar. I am from Caracas, Venezuela; I am twenty-three years old. I am currently studying international business in the United States, thanks to a baseball scholarship. My relationship with hemophilia began with the birth of my brother, who is a hemophiliac. Since his birth my father and my mother have become very active in the community of patients with hemophilia in Venezuela, which is the Venezuelan Association for Hemophilia. During the past two years I have been involved in developing projects and events to help the Association for Hemophilia. Today these projects and events occur on an international stage. With [sic], for all these years this has been a family affair. I have been helping the association and my brother as well. In our house, living with hemophilia has been completely normal. That is, the attitude that we have always tried to have in our home is to live a normal life, so that hemophilia is not a limitation to the family members of a patient with hemophilia or to those suffering from hemophilia, such as my brother. Today my brother is twenty years old and has a life and has led, and leads, a completely normal life, thanks mainly to that attitude that hemophilia is not a limitation, and … from … that point we move on to leading a normal life. As I said, I am studying international business; and one of my graduation requirements was to … to complete an internship related to my career.
I was offered a truly excellent opportunity to work with them as an intern during the summer of 2008. This was an excellent opportunity both on the personal as well as on the professional level. Buenas. Mi nombre es Cesar. Soy de Caracas Venezuela y tengo veinte y tres años. Actualmente estoy estudiando en los Estados Unidos, negocios internacional y aquí en los Estados Unidos, gracias a una beca deportiva en béisbol. Mi relación con la hemofilia comienza en el nacimiento de mi hermano que es paciente de la hemofilia. Desde que el nació, mi papa y mama se involucraron mucho en lo que es la comunidad de los pacientes con la hemofilia en Venezuela, la Asociación Venezolano para la hemofilia. Por los pasados dos años yo fui desarrollando e, proyectos y eventos para ayudar a la Asociación Para la Hemofilia. Actualmente estos proyectos y eventos se han llevado a un plano internacional. Con, durante todos estos años ha sido una ayuda totalmente de la familia. Yo e estado ayudándolo a ello y mi hermano igualmente. El vivir con la hemofilia en la casa ha sido totalmente normal. Es decir yo siempre la mentalidad que hemos tratado tener en la casa, el vivir normal y el que se, que la hemofilia no son una limitación ni para los familiares de un pacientes de la hemofilia ni para los pacientes de la hemofilia que es mi hermano. Mi hermano actualmente tiene veinte años y tiene una vida y ha tenido y tiene una vida totalmente normal. Y mucho gracias a eso a la mentalidad en que la hemofilia no es una limitación. Y…de…al de llevar una vida normal. Como ya les dije, yo estoy estudiando negocios internacionales y uno de los requisitos para la graduación era el…el de realizar una pasantilla relacionada a lo que mi carrera.
Vaya se me ofreció una gran oportunidad hacer de poder trabajar con ellos como pasante el pasado summer 2008, y fue una oportunidad grandiosa de el plano personal al, al igual que el plano profesional. El poder llevar todo lo que yo e aprendido y lo que e vivido en mi casa y en mi vida relacionado con la hemofilia, con trata de eventos, con lo que… el vivir el día a día con un hemofílico, puede llevarlo al plano de lo que Healthcare.
